Francois-Auguste Magon was one of the most powerful ship-owners in the heyday of Saint-Malo and a director of the French East India Company.
Built in 1725, the house is listed as a Historic Monument (interior and exterior) so as to protect its authenticity and guarantee that the restoration respects historical accuracy.
Discover hidden staircases, stately panelled salons, cellars used as a prison during the French Revolution, and a collection of weapons, chests, documents and coins from the early eighteenth century.

A visit to Brittany is not complete without visiting the well known historical site of Mont Saint-Michel.
The Abbey is believed to date back to 708 and build by Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, with the Benedictines settling in the Abbey in the 10th century.
During the Hundred Years War, Mont St Michel was an impregnable stronghold, and as a result an example of military architecture.
The Abbey served as prison till 1863 as a result of the dissolution of the religious community during the revolution.
